William Richmond (1763-1829) was born a slave in , Staten Island, New York.  Richmond worked as a hangman for Percy, his most famous execution being that of Nathan Hale. In 1777 he was taken to England and apprenticed to a cabinetmaker. Richmond took up boxing & ultimately gave up cabinetmaking to fight professionally. Known as "The Black Terror,", Richmond won many fights. After retiring, Richmond operated a boxing academy. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1999. This girl was hanged in the Minsk prison (Byelorussia, the U.S.S.R.) by Nazi in 1942 for having sex with German soldiers. The photographer took pictures of the corpse of this unhappy girl. And those images were used for conviction of the Nazi soldiers who had sex with that girl. The body of this executed girl was not released to her parents. It was burned subsequently.
