The latest addition to my kokeshi collection. This one is my favourite to date and she is by far the largest weighing just over a kilo and measuring in height. Her name is Fukujuso which I believe means Happiness and Long Life.
Another example of a kicho/kichou or Heian screen of state. The fabric, motifs and colours would be changed in accordance with the season and special occasions such as a death or birth, were an indicator of ones taste. Used to divide rooms.
