Sony Ericsson W580i I upgraded to this slider phone in 2008. Now this was fancy...being a Walkman phone (the W of the name) it could play mp3s. It also had a radio, a 2 megapixel camera and some apps. Nice phone but the keypad was a bit too flimsy for its own good.

ZTE Blade Sold by Orange in the UK as the San Francisco, this handset quickly became a favourite of "boxbreakers". People who bought the phone, unlocked it from Orange's network and proceeded to install a debranded version of Android. Nice entry level Android phone with one drawback - the piss poor camera.

1998. Panasonic G450. My very first phone. It met its demise in late 2000 when my dog ate its charger, rendering it useless.

Sony Ericsson W705. Now we're up to 2009 or 2010. This was a very nice handset and one I would've held on to for a lot longer if I'd not wanted a smartphone. It had a 3 megapixel camera that could take decent pictures on occasions, a reasonably workable internet browser, some apps and a solid build.

Sony Ericsson Z520i. I got this in either 2005/2006. Lacked any great frills but it was a well built little phone. After I upgraded, I gave this to someone else who got several more years use out of it.

Nokia 3510i. Now this was a first. Polyphonic ringtones and a colour screen. I think I got this around 2003. Even though it boasted a colour screen, it was a far cry from what we are used to today.

Nokia 3210. I bought this in late 2000 out of necessity rather than the burning urge to own a Nokia. Never really liked this phone for some reason even though there wasn't anything wrong with it.
