POLAR BEARS...aka the snow bear...live in the Arctic regions of Russia, Alaska, Canada, Greenland, and Norway...the only bear species that is a marine mammal...the largest species of bear...averages  6.5 - 8.5 feet long...stands 5.5 feet at the shoulder...weighs 800 - 1200 pounds...have a 2-4 inch thick layer of fat (blubber) to insulate them from the cold weather & water...has about one million hairs per square inch...around 20,000–25,000 in the wild
