Venezuelan Poodle Moth. Imagine that flying at you from out of the dark.

Recently discovered poodle moth photographed by taxonomist Dr Arthur Anker during a recent trip to Venezuela. Poodle moth isn't its official name though, that's just what people are calling it until it can be properly classified.

First Flight by Karen Thorell, a Swedish wildlife photographer who captured this momentous photograph of 2 baby common golden-eye ducks ( a medium sized sea duck) leaving the nest and taking to the air for their first ever flight. #Photography #Duck #Common_Goldeneye

First Flight! Actually, it is first jump. Baby ducks (or any baby bird, for that matter) cannot fly. But birds stay in the nest til they can fly, ducks drop down into the water or ground and go from there.
