Goals in Sight

Ahh what a day! I don't think there is any feeling comparable to walking into a classroom that is absolutely empty, and in a few magical weeks, transforming into a space to inspire young minds! It may be one of my favorite parts of the job. Today, I created a goals bulletin board. I half got this idea off Pinterest/ half tweaked it to fit my class' needs. We have daily classroom meetings in room 10! I love this. It brings us together and lets the students know they are a part of a team! I…

Lots of times, people get jobs just days or even THE day before school starts. Heck....this year, my school actually hired two people AFTER…

You're What? Telling Your Students And Their Families That You Are Expecting - Teaching with Jillian Starr

“Does your baby poop inside you? Do you have to poop out their poop?” Conversations you never thought you’d have!I guess it had never really occurred to me that I would be the one breaking the news to my students and families about my pregnancy. For some reason I assumed that administration would handle it, or some adorable little maternity elves would magically take care

This board helps students visualize fractions. It would be a great reference board as students are doing their fractions in class. They can look at this board to visualize fractions as they work on problems. Almost Done

I think hope I'm almost done! I have the back part of the room done, tables set up, cubbies organized, and curtains hung. Now I'm waiting on our class list to see if I need to add more tables. After, almost 2 weeks of hot gluing, hanging, rehanging, and sweating in the warm building, I can say I'm so thrilled with the results. A huge shout out to my colleague, Tonia, for being the ladder queen! I could not have done this without her! Today is my deadline for completing the rest of the room…
