Gaway Gaway is a Filipino dance that depicts the harvesting of edible roots as a part of daily life. "Bountiful Harvest" is a tribute to Filipino women. It evokes the joy and sense of community conveyed by the dance, but adds a contemporary spin with symbols hidden in the baskets: a stethoscope as a tribute to all those who went into the nursing field, a ruler for the teachers, and a baby bottle to represent child-rearing.
