3.3M views · 12K reactions | Chicken Pot Pies | comfort food, chicken meat, Pot pie | Chicken potpie—a comfort food classic—gets unexpected flavor, and kick, from cognac. http://bit.ly/3TIP88y | By Martha Stewart | Pot pies have stood the test of time. They are the ultimate one-pot meal. Now, the first thing to do is to cook your chicken. Now, put it in a large stock pot with water to cover there. That's perfect. Bring it to a boil and then turn down the heat to a simmer. In this heavy casserole, I have five tablespoons of butter and I'm going to saute the onions first for a little bit then add the carrots and then the potatoes. You just cook until they're tender. Now, once that chicken is done and you take the skin off and tear it into pieces, this is the size piece that you're looking for. Add your carrots and now, add the potatoes. Oh, they are so beautiful. Get those coated with the butter and so now, after 10 or 12 minutes, the potatoes will be fork tender as will the carrots. Add your cremini mushrooms. They're a little bit firmer than those everyday mushrooms. Now, the cognac's going to deglaze the bottom of the pan but it will also add a depth of flavor to the sauce which I learned from an old friend years and years ago. Let the flavor get infused into all those vegetables and then, five tablespoons of flour. Sprinkle over all the vegetables. Better to sprinkle than to dump it on one spot because this is what's really going to thicken your sauce and you want to cook the floury taste out of the flour. So far, all the vegetables are still holding their shape, their color. You don't want to get them mushy in any way and now, add two cups of chicken stock Now, the sauce will start to get thick and one cup of whole milk. Add a little bit of salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer. And cook for about two to 3 minutes. Then you'll see the sauce thicken nicely. Add the thyme. Add the parsley and the peas. And then add your chicken. Now you can see why the homemade Chicken Pot Pie is so superior to anything that you can buy. Look at all the goodness that goes into the pot. Now, season again with a little bit of salt. Of course, salt is good and pepper. So, put the solids in first. You can always fill with a little bit more of that delectable sauce. So, here's our puff pastry. Use a little bit of bench flour. You're going to need two sheets this size for the six pot pies. Work quickly because this softens so rapidly. It's filled with like a thousand layers of butter and pastry. Don't throw the scraps away. They can be used for decoration, for little pagniers for the kids, just for little snacks there. So now we have our three rounds. Move the excess neatly. That should go right back into the fridge. And now these cut a vent hole in the centre. Put this back on a parchment sheet and chill again just until they're really stiff and that will enable you to use them easily pastry rule make it cold bake it hot your oven should be preheated at 425 what I'm doing is applying glue which is egg wash just egg and water to the edge of the ramekins and you have to work really quickly to get this to stick and then make a pretty edge around. You can sort of make it up. Everybody has a different method of of crimping and folding. But there that looks I think really cute doesn't it? Before you get these into the oven I would suggest egg washing like this. Then chill the whole tray again and you pop it into the oven for about 25 to 30 minutes. The puff has puffed. The centers have bubbled. That is certainly a fantastic one dish meal that your family is really going to go crazy over.

Add 2 tbsp flour, cup of chicken broth, and heavy cream. Simmer sauce until it thickens, lower heat and add shredded chicken, diced bacon, and broccoli. I steam my broccoli a little first. Add seasoning: fresh thyme, poultry blend, s&p, fresh parsley.🔥Top with puff pastry, brush with egg wash, sprinkle salt, grate parm on top. Poke holes for ventilation. Bake at 400 for 15 minutes or until pastry is cooked through and golden brown. #chickenpotpie #recipeshare | Social Sami

carrots and celery being cooked in a wok on the stove top
9.6K views · 186 reactions | My Favorite Chicken Pot Pie! | My Favorite Chicken Pot Pie! | By Charles Parks | Of butter melted. We're going to add in two cups of carrots, a cup of celery, and a small onion and we're going to saute these this for about 5 minutes. Now we have going to put in our seasoning. We've got a teaspoon of salt, half teaspoon black pepper, teaspoon of garlic powder, and one a half teaspoon of celery seed. Gonna put all that in here to season your vegetables. Then we're going to add in a half a cup of flour. And this will make kind of like a paste. And we got to do that for and let it cook for about 2 minutes. Half a cup of flour and it's going to be like a paste. Okay, now you're going to add in one cup of milk. Two cups of chicken stock. You're going to let this thicken. And see how it's made like a gravy. You're going to add in now two cans of sweet peas that have been rinsed and drained. And four cups of chopped chicken. Roxy is going nuts with that bottle. Now you're going to take your sheet of puff pastry. You're going to lay it down on top. You have your oven preheated to four twenty-five. Gonna place our puff pastry on here. Kimmit's looking and smelling pretty darn good. Mhm. If you want to do it instead of these rectangle, you could always do some thinners things, intertwine them like you would do on apple pie or something. Stretch them out like this. It'll spread out and when yes and when it starts cooking it'll puff up as well. Now we're going to bake this for about 25 minutes. Oh wow. Kim. Hi Tyler. Any special spot or any spot? Uh any spot. Okay let's do this right here. Oh I love that crisp. There you go. Chicken, some peas. Mm. Let me go back in here and get a few carrots. Can I go throw it in the freezer for like 30 minutes? Nope. Put it straight into your mouth please. I'm sick of burning my mouth. Okay. Oh yeah. Very good. I give it like a eight point six.

908K views · 53K reactions | The perfect Fall dinner 🍂 The viral Chicken Cobbler 😋 •1 stick of butter •1 rotisserie chicken deboned (I used left over chicken thighs that I chopped up) •1 bag of frozen veggies •box of cheddar bay biscuits (I used the gluten free variety) •2 cups of milk •2 cups of chicken stock (I used chicken bouillon) •1 can of cream of chicken soup (I used gluten free) •garlic powder and pepper to taste Preheat oven to 375°. Allow butter to melt in the pan while oven preheats (do not let it burn). Take melted butter pan out of the oven and add chicken on top of butter. Dump bag of frozen veggies on top. Sprinkle garlic powder on top. Mix biscuit mix and milk together, then pour on top of chicken and veggies (do not mix, but you can spread evenly). Mix chicken stock and cream of chicken soup together, then add on top of chicken mixture (do NOT stir). Add some pepper then let it bake in the oven for 45 minutes or until the top turns golden. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then serve! Enjoy! a woman is eating food out of a bowl
109K views · 2.3K reactions | Chicken Pot Pie 🥧 My grandma always made hers with a biscuit topping and to this day, it just spells pure comfort food for me.  I made it with the hopes that Iris would eat it....and she did! Her little friend was over for dinner and he even had seconds.  So yeah, when 4 year olds eat my food, it’s pretty much the best compliment ever. Recipe: Filling:  2 cooked chicken breasts, shredded 3 tablespoons butter 2 diced carrots 1/2 large onion, diced 1/2 cup mushrooms, diced 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme 4 tablespoons flour 2 cups chicken stock 1 cup half and half 3/4 cup peas Salt and pepper Biscuit topping: 2 cups flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 tablespoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup chilled butter, cubed 1 1/4 cups buttermilk 1 tablespoon melted butter Flakey sea salt Preheat oven to 375 F. In a large skillet, melt butter. Add carrots and onions, cook until soft, about 5 minutes.  Add mushrooms and cook another 5 minutes.  Stir in thyme and flour.  Cook 2 minutes.  Whisk in chicken stock and half and half.  Generously season with salt and pepper. Cook until it thickens, stirring often.  Mix in the chicken and peas.  Transfer to an 8x8 casserole dish. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.  Add butter and use a pastry cutter (or your fingers) to mix in the butter until it’s coarse meal texture.  Stir in buttermilk until just combined. Scoop the biscuit dough by the heaping tablespoonful onto the pie filling.  Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with flakey sea salt. Bake until golden brown, about 45 minutes.  Let stand 5 minutes.  Enjoy! | Katie Lee Biegel

Chicken Pot Pie Recipe, Super Easy 🥧 | Chicken Pot Pie Recipe, Super Easy 🥧 | By Food Pop | Oh yeah. Chicken Pot Pie. How do you elevate it? You add more ingredients. Okay so we have some store bought chicken pot pie. We have some pulled rotisserie chicken. I'm just going to add that to the chicken pot pie because yeah there's chicken inside of it but I want this to be hearty. Okay. I want this to be full and packed with not only flavours but textures as well. Which is why I'm also going to add some bacon bits on top of that and now before we really take it to a place just going to mix this all together like so get it really familiar with one another now I'm using a cast iron skillet but this would also work inside of like a Pyrex casserole dish or any oven safe vessel really this is two cans of chunky doesn't have to be chunky but chunky style chicken pot pie it's about a pound of bacon and a half of a rotisserie chicken okay mix this all together like that now you want to leave some room on top okay because that's where the fun begins okay we're going to add some Pillsbury biscuits on top alright so we're just going to crack an egg into this little bowl add a little bit of water that's going to help this get golden brown but also leave it sort of like have a shiny texture okay just mix that all up like so and then paint the egg mixture over the egg over the biscuits like so make sure that they're all touched okay we're going to see there's going to be like some egg yolk going on over there it's going to get shiny already so you know it's going to be shiny before it's going to be shiny after right let's fingers crossed let's hope for the best and then once this is done this goes in the oven at 425 for 20 minutes and then we're going to garnish it and hopefully elevate this chicken pot pie to new heights okay look how great this looks the puff pastry is golden brown it definitely doesn't smell like store bought so before we do anything let's hit it with a little bit of parsley get a little color contrast going in there and then slice out a piece we got this crazy thing just going to scoop it all the way into. Holy cow. This looks amazing. Look how crazy that looks. Smells so good. Now I might hurt myself here but I do it. I do it for the culture. This is how you elevate canned soup guys. Canned chicken pot pie. That does not taste like canned chicken pot pie. With the added shredded chicken and the bacon really takes it to a place. But Okay, but also the biscuit, golden brown, fluffy, and perfectly cooked. Oh my god. Wow. Guys, this is a winner. This is a winner people. Let me know what other things I should elevate by dropping a comment down below. I'll see you on the next one. Nailed it.
