On June 11, 1942 newspapers wrote: "In the search for the killers of SS-Obergruppenführer Heydrich were found conclusive evidence that the population of the village of Lidice near Kladno provided support and assistance to perpetrators...Adult men were shot, the women transported to concentration camps and children sent to upbringing. Buildings in the village were razed to the ground". What Kubiš and Gabčík felt? After all they knew that those people had nothing to do with the assassination.
