Aimé-Jules Dalou was a 19th century French sculptor, celebrated for his use of perspective and realism. In 1854 he attended the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris in the François-Joseph Duret classroom. Dalou began exhibiting at the Paris Salon in 1861 and went on to have a very successful career as a sculptor in Paris and in England.
