On October 1, 1889 City Council told the Mayor to instruct the City Marshall “to stop all fancy women from riding on horseback or in open carriages or otherwise exhibiting or advertising their occupation on the streets of Durango.”

the child on the left is definitely propped up by a stand but both girls hands are discolored and eyes look painted making me think both are deceased
