The Curse of the Blue Figurine. John Bellairs. - My favorite series by Bellairs, this series contains the exploits of Johnny Dixon and his eccentric partner Professor Roderick Childermass.  I read the entire Bellairs catalog as a child.  Each book I devoured, and then I read them again as an adult and enjoyed them just as much.

The cat in the Saki story Tobermory (illus. Edward Gorey) has very strange powers indeed.

among cats one comes across superior intellect and when I met Tobermory I saw I was in contact with a 'Beyond-cat' of extraordinary intelligence.

I have never seen this Edward Gorey cover for Thomas Wolfe. If you do, buy it and call me.
