1820-1840 Corset at the Glasgow Museums, Glasgow - From the curators' comments: "After the high waistline of first two decades by the 1820s it was slowly returning to the natural waist. However, corsets at this date were still designed to produce a long slim line rather than the hour-glass figure with sixteenth inch waist that was fashionable during Queen Victoria’s reign later in the century."
