Printed silk and wool skirt trimmed with red and yellow lace, navy apron with floral embroidery, tie dyed stripes and lace trim, brocaded vest in red, green, purple and yellow, embroidered blouse, three embroidered caps-two with beadwork and metallic threads, short sash.

"Bobbin lace from Czechoslovakia, late 19th or 20th century. Eastern European lace is characterized by the use of colored yarns."  The University of Rhode Island Historic Textile and Clothing Collection houses the collection of Mabel Foster Bainbridge, a recognized authority on needlework. In the early twentieth century she collected laces and embroideries, together with books on the subject, from all over the world. Items in the collection date from the 17th through the 20th centuries.
