The Nigg Cross-Slab dating from late 8th century. The reverse shows David, identified by a sheep and a harp, wrestling with a lion. Hunting scenes appear above and below. During restoration of the slab in 2012-13 a missing piece was added and can be seen to the left of the steel support.
Front This is the Hiton of Cadboll stone, carved around 800 AD in the Pictish heartland of Northern Scotland. The hunting scene in the middle is intricately carved and seems to show a woman leading an aristocratic hunt.
