No. 523, Downy Chick, c. 1870-1875, Olana Collection Spring has sprung! Here is a sketch Frederic Church made of a downy chick from the barn. The sweet nature of the bird is how he came up with a nickname for his daughter Isabel, who he referred to as “Downie”. The barn is now the Wagon House Education Center where we hold many of our educational programs for families! Check out the Education page on www.olana.org to find out about our upcoming events. #familyMW #museumweek
