West Colfax Ave has long served Denverites, from miners in the 1860s traveling on the dubbed “Golden Road” to auto tourists in the 1960s attracted by its motels and restaurants. But today, the arrival of the West Light Rail potentially threatens these buildings--like Davies’ Chuck Wagon Diner, one of only two National Register-listed buildings along the project corridor. In 2014, SHF will fund a survey of these significant historic resources to plan for their protection and future. #preserveCO
