Chakras & Reiki
The Heart Chakra
°Heart Chakra ~ The Anāhata Chakra is one of the most beautiful & richest Chakras & invites us to dwell longer in its inexhaustible treasures of delightful feelings & experiences. It is located in the region of the heart, in the centre of the chest & this is why it is also known as the Heart Centre. It is not without reason that the heart is regarded as the symbol of love, for the Anāhata Chakra is the seat of love.
The Sacral Chakra
°Sacral Chakra ~ The Sacral Chakra (Svādhishthāna Chakra in Sanskrit) marks the second stage of human evolvement. The level of consciousness of the Svādhishthāna Chakra is the subconcious, the sphere of consciousness that lies between sleeping & waking. We have a vague idea of what is contained here, but no complete or clear knowledge. Even when our consciousness is centred, other levels of consciousness always influence our perceptions & actions.
The Crown Chakra
°Crown Chakra ~ The Crown Chakra (Sahasrāra Chakra in Sanskrit) is located on the crown of the head beneath the Fontanelle, which is easily visible in a new-born child. It is also known as the Thousand-petalled Lotus, Brahmrandhra (door to Brahma) & Source of Light (because a supernatural light as bright as the sun radiates from it).
The Solar Plexus Chakra
°Solar Plexus Chakra ~ The Manipūra Chakra literally means the “City of Jewels”, in which we find the pearls of clarity, wisdom, self-confidence & wellbeing. Their lustre radiates down to the lower Chakras as well as up to the Heart Centre (Anāhata Chakra). The feelings of love & happiness that we feel in our heart actually originate in the Manipūra Chakra & rise from there to the Anāhata Chakra.
The Root Chakra
°Root Chakra ~ Just as the womb of the mother creates the basic requirement for the growth of the embryo, the Root Chakra (Mūlādhāra Chakra in Sanskrit) forms the basis & the starting point for our spiritual development. It is the foundation from which we climb the ladder of the Chakras; the root from which we receive the nourishment for our spiritual development. For this reason & because it lies at the lowest point of the spinal column below the Coccyx, it bears the name “Root Chakra”.
The Brow Chakra
°Third Eye Chakra ~ In the Brow Chakra (Ājňā Chakra in Sanskrit) the development of our wisdom & humanity is completed & we reach the bridge to Divine Consciousness. It is located at the upper end of the spinal column, at the point of transition from the spine to the brain. Its radiation is, however, primarily perceptible in the centre of the forehead between the eyebrows. Therefore, it is also known as the “Eyebrow Centre” or “Third Eye”.
The Throat Chakra
°Throat Chakra ~ The Throat Chakra is a centre of physical & spiritual purification. The Vishuddha Chakra is a place of purification & balancing. The breath that flows through the throat & therefore through this Chakra, plays a big role in this. Through the power of the breath in the Vishuddha Chakra harmful residues are removed from the body on a physical level & in the mental sphere the thoughts emotions, consciousness & subconscious are purified & harmonized.
