Beluga Whale (Delphinapterus leucas) by Steve Snodgras, wikipedia: Unlike many dolphins and whales, the seven vertebrae in the neck are not fused together, allowing the animal to turn its head laterally without needing to rotate its body. This gives the head a lateral manoeuvrability that allows an improved field of view, helps in catching prey and evading predators, and movement in deep water. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beluga_whale #Beluga_Whale

Cody Yellowstone is home to dozens of wildlife species, including apex predators like bears and wolves, other large mammals like elk and bighorn sheep, and birds of prey such as eagles and osprey. Other critters include foxes, beavers, coyotes, river otters, mountain goats, marmots, pronghorn, pikes, and Yellowstone Cutthroat trout. The next generation for most of these species will soon make their debut in Cody Yellowstone, and many will be easy to spot from pullouts along our scenic byways.

Commonly referred to as cats, ringtails are actually members of the raccoon family. These nocturnal cuties are well known for their raccoon-like behavior of seeking out human food in addition to their natural diet. Help keep wildlife wild by properly storing your food when camping or backpacking in Zion!
