Special Needs Teacher
This page has a collection of signs to set expectations for students and assist in teaching. I think the group work expectations chart would be helpful at the beginning of the year. The teacher seems to be working toward a student-centered classroom, but at the same time, making these beforehand focuses more on the teacher. I would think that asking kids for their thoughts on how this would benefit them would be appropriate in order to bring the locus of control to them.
Do you have a positive classroom behavior system that students are rocking in the classroom, but it's falling apart outside of the classroom? I did. Class Dojo has been a great tool in my Autism classroom, but it was falling apart at recess, lunch, and mainstream times. Creating a portable behavior system has helped my Special Education students generalize expected behavior across campus. Check out how I did it!
