So completely grossed out right now. It is difficult to watch someone you used to like and admire make a choice to behave in ugly ways. But if they do it over and over you have to accept that that is who they really are. And I don't think it is possible to be friends with someone you can no longer respect.
I feel this also applies to children. Many may disagree, but kids are human beings with feelings, thoughts and opinions. I do not condone parents allowing their kids to run amuck and act a damn fool, but I also do not believe in lying to your children - being a full on hypocrite - and then expecting them to respect and be honest with you. Practice what you preach; the results just may astound you.
Nope! Respect is not blindly given to anyone. Human rights, yes. Respect, no. I think we may need a refresher course on what respect means: a feeling or positive action freely given to someone because of their accomplishments, talents and/or qualities. NOT because they breathe air and take up space. You know, when we lower our expectations and require admiration for simply existing, we all lose. Respect is EARNED, don't cheapen it by trying to DEMAND it.
Or the talkers are cowardly or afraid of confrontation. Either way let them talk. ;) They're either witnessing a difficulty on part of your journey on your way to victory thinking they're better than you, or they're judging you because of what you've accomplished and feel inferior somehow. What matters is GOD knows it all, and is on your side.
