This foldable pavilion was built during my workshop at the Faculty of architecture Brno University of Technology. It's being registered for future commercial use. A huge thanks goes to my dissertation supervisor Jiri Palacky for support and the nice photos and to the group of Erazmus students (specially Samuli Saarinen) for sticking with me to the end. #origami #pavilion #foldedstructure #foldedplate #kubonovak #paperhouse #paperarchitecture #miuraori #instaart

Another day devoted to photography. Weve had this pendant light in our inventory for some time. Still loving it. Its really tricky to photograph this white piece on white background - it looks grayish and/or yellowish. So I started to experiment with color background. Here is the indigo one. What do you think? #paperartist #instart #nurserylamp #nurserydecor #homedesing #interiordesign

This study combines my tilling and free form approach to pyramidal mosaics. I call it STRIPES as the first layer for the pattern consisted of horizontal stripes. The lines then change directions and intersect one another. I have a whole series experimenting with this principle drafted on my computer looking forward to making it. But currently I am busy spending time with my sons. The younger one David was born just this Monday sweet little fellow he is.

M.C. Escher loved to use the grid of pentagons which served me as a geometrical skeleton for this piece. It is a 65x65x3cm piece in velvety blue coated paper consisting of 60 pyramids. This pentagonal pattern has a 4-fold symmetry and can be derived from a square grid. There is a kind of tension between the felt square grid background and the pentagonal figures in front of it which I especially like.

This M.C.Escher-inspired piece is dedicated to my son David whos just turned 1 week today. Its a 65x65x3cm regular division mosaic based on a square grid using 49 tiles. According to Eschers systematization this should be a IXd system using a p4g symmetry (reflection and 90 degree rotation). He has used it for several of his works like the No.12 (Butterfly) from 1938. The pattern feels strong and calm to me. The red velvety paper warms up the room and changes notably during the day with the…
