Our half bath is by far the most used bathroom in our house, mostly by our young children and anyone who comes to visit. When we moved in, it had a pedestal sink and one small cabinet above the toilet. Although the cabinet offered a little storage, it also made the room seem even smaller and kept the area around the toilet in shadow. So, it had to come down. We switched out the pedestal sink for a small vanity, but I still wanted to add some shelves that would keep the room open an… Vanity Shelves, Bathroom Shelves, Diy Bathroom, Bathroom Furniture, Bathroom Storage, Wall Shelves, Small Bathroom, Bathroom Ideas, Book Shelves

When I saw this dresser, I loved the shape, and pulls and its modern vibe. I could tell right away that it had amazing woodgrain under the old varnish. So I got to work right away to uncover it's beauty. The first step was to fill in the missing veneer with wood filler. Once that was dry I started sanding. I started sanding with my electric sander! 100/120/150/220 grit sandpaper in this order. Once everything was sanded. I took off the original basement the dresser was sit… Ikea Dresser Makeover, Diy Makeover, Furniture Makeover, Wood Furniture, Chair Makeover, Furniture Repair, Furniture Refinishing, Refurbished Furniture, Repurposed Furniture

During our recent kitchen renovation I moved my fridge into the space where the pantry used to be in order to allow for some much needed counter space. The kitchen is TINY, just 10x10, so there wasn't anywhere IN the kitchen to put a new one, so I did the next best thing - we built a pantry between the studs just outside the kitchen door. We started by relocating some a light fixture and switch to another wall. Next we carefully cut out the old lathe and plaster wall, creating 2 s… Built In Pantry, Kitchen Pantry Storage, Pantry Wall, Diy Pantry, Laundry Room Storage, Kitchen Shelves, House Pantry, Laundry Rooms, Pantry Ideas

I found an old, broken sewing machine desk at a local thrift store for $12. The sewing machine was missing and the top piece that covered the sewing machine when it was under the desk was missing, so it didn't even work as a plain, old desk. I thought if I could remove the broken middle part of the desk, I would have two end tables or night stands, and so began my next project. This is the desk as I bought it. The two bottom drawers on either side were not the same size - the on… Sewing Machine Desk, Sewing Desk, Old School Desks, Old Desks, Diy Nightstand, Diy Desk, Wooden Kitchen Signs, Make A Closet, Diy Dining Table

Yup, I painted my stairs..and added a runner and I am a little obsessed with the way they came out! My wood stairs were not bad before, we had already stained them a darker color when we moved in, but with two small children we needed to add some traction and warm it up some with a runner. But first, I painted them. With the runner I wanted I it didn't look right with the stain color. So I painted them. I love how much it brightens up the whole entry way. A beautiful but functional impact in my home office. I found these 2 brand new base cabinets on the Facebook Marketplace for a steal at $50. I knew I had to have them even though I didn't know what I wanted to do with them yet. When I got home I just put them in my office to get them out of the way and then realized they would be great in there! I didn't care for the color so I painted them a dark blue/gray with Benjamin Moore Advanced Paint. I had a vision... My mantel needed a focal point for Christmas, so I was going to create this night scene on a painted black backdrop with mini lights posing as twinkling stars in the night. However, as I worked further on the project, that all changed. (they always do...) It became bigger... and BETTER! Rather than boards, I grabbed an old bulletin board I had in my stash instead. I then messed with an easy-to-use stencil in such a (good) way that created a NEW design, and the m… Diy Christmas Mantel, Christmas Tree Stencil, Cozy Christmas, A Christmas Story, Christmas Cheer, Christmas Ideas, Xmas, Christmas Crafts

I recently built a new headboard for my bedroom and needed a new bedside table to go with it. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on this so I gave myself the challenge to build something out of a pile of leftover wood I had been accumulating for a while. This is the wood I had to work with: 1"x3"'s, 1"x4"'s and 3/4" Plywood I didn't want to do all the wood cutting in my apartment because it would be way too messy so I set up my mobile workshop outside.
