Kea - New Zealand alpine parrot. Not exactly a pet but these brilliant birds have always fascinated me.

Lophozonia menziesii or Silver beech (Māori: tawhai) is a tree of the southern beech family endemic to New Zealand. Its common name probably comes from the fact that its bark is whitish in colour, particularly in younger specimens. It is found from Thames southwards in the North Island (except Mount Taranaki/Egmont), and throughout the South Island.

Day 11 Green. This rimu tree is a native of New Zealand. It can grows to 50m (165 feet) tall and live 1000 years. The government has now halted logging on public land. So I treasure my solid wooden table and this trolley as I love the mellow colour. And the leaves are green to fit in with today's prompt. #GenealogyPhoto #GenealogyPhotoaday #genealogy #familyhistory #newzealand #rimu #nativetrees
