This is a fabulous medieval silver signet ring, dating to the 12th - 13th century. The Ring is a large and robust example, designed for a man to wear. It bears a Sicilian eagle device as a seal, bold and artistically engraved. The ring would have been worn by a nobleman during the reign of Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor. This would have seen action during the period of the Crusades, in the Holy Land as favor or badge of office. No doubt this ring would have been worn by a Norman knight

Mail coif c.1331-1370, Royal Armouries, Leeds Constructed of alternate rows of flat riveted and solid rings. The rivets of the riveted links are wedge-shaped, with domed heads 1.78 mm across. There is a vertical opening at the rear, and at the lower rear is a triangular section of the same mail fitted with the rivet heads on the inside, possibly a working-life modification.

A find in the Netherlands and is a late 13th/early 14th century small infantry shield made of willow. You are looking at the rear and the bar doubles as re-enforcement and as the hand grip. The reverse of the hole has a metal boss which protected the hand (like the earlier, and larger, Viking shield). Just visible is a band of metal attached to the rim to provode further strength.
