A small slender rectangular cloisonné-enamel vase By Hayashi Kodenji of Nagoya, Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Worked in gold and silver wire, each face of the tapering body decorated with a tall stalk of chrysanthemums, two faces with a solitary butterfly hovering above, reserved on a midnight-blue ground, the neck and foot with a band of shield panels enclosing foliate motifs, applied with silver rims.
