Recently, I made a page, mixing up my Scraptastic Club kits. Fellow DT Member, Susan Stringfellow, made such a great page that inspired me (but then again, when don't they). I asked her if I could scrap lift it. With her permission, I did. I am not a design person. I can match papers and match my photos to paper like nobody's business. That is my forte. But, when it comes to design... not a chance. Sketches are my best friend. :) This page that Susan made was just the inspiration for a page of my son in Disney World last summer. Seeing her photo on her page, it made me think of mine. I did do some minor changes. I flipped it, I skipped the banner she made and did a little more embellishing on the one side of the photo. I did all of this by mish-mashing Jessica's kits together to work with my photo. I think I used three different kits. I made a big mess in the process. I don't think I can get the contents back in the correct spot either. I just kept pulling things and playing and moving things around... dismantling layered stickers and piecing them with other pieces. I even used some Teresa Collins packaging on my page. This is one of my very favorite photos I took while in Florida last year. I LOVE that I captured his reflection in the wet sidewalk (and that it came out so clear), the splashes of the fountains and that smile on his adorable little face. :) He was pretty hesitant at first about playing in them. We don't have anything like that here. I love how I can take Jessica's kits, and mix them up differently to fit my photos that I have. They all mesh so well! It is a great way to use up and maximize your kits. :) Here is Susan's fabulous page. I love her page!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Have you checked out the Back to School Event going on at twopeasinabucket.com? It's packed with tutorials, free classes, give aways and a Guest Designer post by little old me! I love that community, I think their gallery is one of my greatest inspirations. The shopping area doesn't hurt either. I was so very thrilled when Jamie asked me to design something "different" for a back to school page. This is what I came up with... The flash cards were created in Microsoft Word. I love this School Spirit line by Crate Paper. My favorite piece is that little red schoolhouse. For more details on how I came up with the page, please visit the 2Peas "Back to School" Event. I'll see you there!
