Square sonic cake

My first attempt to recreate a professional style birthday cake came out ok….in my nephews view “a masterpiece!” 2 layer, 12” x 12” golden vanilla “Birthday Cake” from King Arthur Baking Co (x1.5 for each layer). Basic vanilla butter cream for the green frosting. Store bought fondant colored for the classic checker board, rings and name. The store bought toy just happened to hold a candle! Perfect.

This Sonic the Hedgehog Birthday Cake is a 9" square chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream between the layers and vanilla buttercream on the outside.
