Thornham is on the north Norfolk coast, about four miles from Hunstanton. Among the salt marshes there is the remains of an ancient port (pictured), which was used - among other things - to unload coal brought down the coast from Newcastle. The North Sea is beyond the sand dunes in the distance. You can just make out one of the many offshore wind farms.
