Stensen’s Duct, also known as the parotid duct, is the duct that leads from the parotid gland (the major salivary gland) into the oral cavity. This duct can also be referred to as ductus parotideus. Nicolas Steno was a Danish anatomist and geologist in the middle to late 17th century. He made many great discoveries in the field of geology at the time, but also identified Stensen’s duct while studying anatomy in Amsterdam.
