I am a lover of precuts—jelly rolls, charm packs, and layer cakes all have their place in my stash and in my heart. I like having a cross-section of certain fabric collections, and buying precuts is less expensive than investing in fat quarters or yardage of an entire line. Each kind of precut has its advantages and disadvantages, but I think mini-charm packs—sets of 2.5-inch squares—are the least practical. There’s only so much you can do with those tiny pieces of fabric. When I received a…

Hello again! Today I have a fun, fast project to share. To make this pillow you will need: 2 Mini Charm Packs, or (81) 2.5" squares FQ for backing (2) 1" x 5" coordinating fabric for zipper tabs (2) 20" squares of batting 16" or longer zipper (can be cut shorter!) About a week ago I got these two sweet little Ella and Ollie packs in the mail, and I very impulsively opened them right up, organized the prints into colors, and arranged them in this diagonal design. I love how it turned out! Fig…

Mini charm packs... so dang cute but what to do with them? Is that really enough fabric for a project? I've bought a few of them simply to stack on my shelf, but I decided I needed to come up with a plan, especially if I wanted to buy more. My first thought was a small table topper, but I have a lot of those. While looking at it I realized there was enough there to make a little Trick or Treat bag, even something cute to hold a few candies on the counter (because now a days my kids go out…

Hello Quilty Friends! It's only mid month and I'm excited to be presenting my June mini quilt for #12minisin12months by Kait over at Knot and Thread Design and it's accompanying tutorial! Yes, the pattern is a repeat of May's mini, but as I have received several requests for a pattern I thought I'd make it up again and write up a tutorial as I went. Ah! Nest is just as nice to work with as I anticipated. Love the blues! and greens! and grays! and cheerful pops of pink. Probably going to be…
