Laguna power turquoise glaze

Laguna Power Turquoise is glaze #7 in the commercial glaze tests @ earthnocturne blog. A super saturated blue / green glaze, opaque except on heavy texture there is some breaking. Mostly stable on darker clays, may run on lighter clays when applied thick. Tested on 5 midfire clays: porcelain,speckled white stoneware,terracotta red,speckled buff and dark brown, from Ky Mudworks and Standard clay.

Here is Laguna’s Power Turquoise over my favorite Amaco Obsidian fired to cone 5 with 20 minute hold. Clay is Bmix 5. 3x obsidian all over and 3x Power Turquoise on top….it did NOT move. I get a cone 6 on my firing schedule….cone 5 with a 20 minute hold.

Laguna Power Turquoise + Seaweed over Iron Luster

I put down the Power turquoise and peacock bands first and then use the Robins to overlap. Same with amaco snow, which looks better over,than under these glazes. the drippy spotted part is robins egg over PT. Fired cone 5 with 10 min hold for a cone 6. Little loafers clay.
