This is a more advanced tutorial, where you can see the full process of creating something like this. Using 3D layers in AE might be scary at first, but it’s super straightforward.  Think of it as you’re filming the book - you need a camera, movement, lights. The 3D camera acts as any camera in real life.  I didn’t add a light in the animation, so I don’t overcomplicate the tutorial. But I would if I was creating this for a client.
