17 · 30 minutes · These Gingerbread cookies are made with a fraction of the butter – yet they still have the same great flavor and texture. This year I wanted to make them into Christmas trees. No cookie cutter required, all I used was a knife to cut them into triangles!

- • 1 Egg, large
- • 1 1/2 tbsp Egg whites
Canned Goods
- • 1/2 cup Applesauce, unsweetened
Condiments
- • 1/4 tsp Lemon juice, fresh
- • 1/3 cup Molasses, dark
Baking & Spices
- • 3 cups All-purpose flour plus more
- • 1/2 tsp Allspice
- • 1 tsp Baking soda
- • 3/4 cup Brown sugar, firmly packed
- • 1 tsp Cinnamon, ground
- • 1/4 tsp Cloves, ground
- • 1 Colored sprinkles
- • 5 drops Food coloring, green
- • 1 cup Powdered sugar
