a quilted wall hanging with many different designs on it's sides and the center

I always use antique mother of pearl buttons, BUT some things like my ribbons can not be made with vintage. The next best thing is French General fabric. I enjoy the books too. My two lap quilts that I am doing are both with French General fabrics. It is new fabric with that vintage feel. So if something has to be done from new…

a stack of folded fabric sitting on top of a wooden table

I am home from the festivities of a family wedding. Now back to reality. Design..... The other day I was at ADAC looking for fabrics for a new project. I popped into Fabricut and stumbled on a new collection called French General Fabrics. They had me at "French". Think rustic, lived-in simplicity....faded gently.....the look you might find in the South of France. I don't care what kind of style you love personally.....Surely you can't say that Country French [done right mind you] doesn't…

a red and white quilt hanging on a wall

Snow arrived in our area. It's a wet, heavy snow so we anticipate a day filled watching the neighbor kids build snowmen and forts. We want to remind you that if the Rogers public schools are closed, the shop is closed. As you know if you've visited us, we are outside the city limits off a 2-lane road. The local crews do a wonderful job with snow removal, but our area is not a high priority......so if you are uncertain about whether we are open, please give a call at 479-372-7403. French…

someone is laying on the floor next to a red and white patchwork quilted with stars

I was just popping in to read some of my favorite bloggers, after a six month absence! Then I saw that there was this draft post, so figured I would do a quick post to say hello to everyone. I started full time work in June last year which finished up in February - but it involved a two hour round trip commute. So there has been very very little sewing happening at my place for a long time. Well, strictly that is not true as I found sitting and hand sewing (english paper piecing six pointed…

an old book is covered with red and white papers, scissors, and other items

Over fifteen years ago, Moda asked us to design a collection of French-inspired prints, filled with the old reds and neutrals that were popular in France in the 18th and 19th century. We called our first fabric collection Rouenneries and it is, still to this day, one of our favorites. Since then, we designed Rouennerie
