In this photo you can see some old Finnish furniture. The room is called "tupa" which is an old Finnish word for kitchen. It’s not every day you see a wood pile in a kitchen, but it’s a fitting detail for Saana and Olli’s Finnish kitchen. After all, they’re the keepers of a 70-year-old wood-burning stove! As Saana tells Apartment Therapy in this recent House Tour: The heart of the house is Porin Valu’s heat-storing wood stove. It has been in use for over 70 years, and it is still working well on daily use in the winter time. A great, great piece of Finnish design.
