Dinosaur quilts

Dinosaurs is a patchwork sampler pattern by Elizabeth Hartman featuring Brachiosaurus, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, and Triceratops blocks. Everything is made from square and rectangular pieces sewn together using conventional patchwork techniques. No templates or paper piecing necessary! Pattern includes two quilt sizes, both of which can be made using fat quarters. Finished sizes are approximately: 69" x 85" (24 dinosaurs) 48" x 48" (8 dinosaurs)

This past week found me trekking through the countryside looking for dinosaur parts and I found them all! The blocks are finished and sewn into a quilt top. This was made using Elizabeth Hartman's pattern and fabrics all from my stash. I have never made a quilt like this and really enjoyed the process. It sure slowed me down, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I didn't have enough of one background fabric to make the entire quilt, so I used a different background for each dinosaur. The…

Dinosaur Parade for a special little guy. Started in August and armed with the Elizabeth Hartman Dinosaur pattern, I began with a goal of a Christmas finish. I did finish in time, even with our Christmas party a week early. Changing up the pattern layout really did help me meet my deadline.
