I originally had another denim stained glass pattern in mind but, our friend was small so wouldn't have been able to cut any 12" squares (unless I left some leg seams in them which I thought might make the quilt even heavier less comfortable). I am not a quilter, but here is my attempt at a quilt for one of my son's for Christmas. I wanted to make a denim quilt for him since I STILL have lots of recycled denim. So I did make this quilt not buying anything new. It was all fabric I had in my stash. I tried following Emily's Disappearing Nine Patch style. I made my squares 6" square instead of 4" square. This is a great idea for taking old denim pants and making something special out of them! My client has 5 grown children (3 girls, 2 boys). She made a denim quilt for each of them. The fabric included family jeans and one special piece in each quilt from jeans that belonged to their deceased Grandfather. All quilts are 66 x 85.
