With this method, a book’s covers and text block are hand-sewn together leaving the spine of the book exposed. The visible Coptic stitch resembles chain stitching –a stitching method used in embroidery– and has also become known as the chain stitch.

This sewing method creates visible long and chain stitch patterns on the spine. It is estimated that this type of binding originated in Germany during the 13th century BC. #diyandcrafts #art #design #education #entertainment #booklover #bookcarft #papercarft #handicarft #bookbidng #bookbindingtutorail #arttutorial #digitalart
