two pairs of socks with dog faces on them

Using some kids socks we made a cat and dog sock puppet. We also used felt and fabric glue as well as pom poms for the nose. Make sure the glue dries completely before letting the kids use them. You may also need to put a piece of cardboard in the sock so that the top and botton don't get glued together. Hours of fun!!!

This is a super-simple puppet skit using a clam (or scallop) puppet, though just about any puppet you wanted to use would work as well. After some good guessing…

It seems there are many, many knitters and crocheters out there that have made lonely socks, never to meet their matches. Why didn't…

a hand holding a blue hat with a red band on it's side and the top part of its head

These photos are quite old, and don't really reflect how I build puppets now, but they show the basic process I followed when I started building puppets. I thought it may be helpful for anyone out there getting started building puppets of their own. Building the head This puppet's head was originally a "failed attempt" at building something else. It didn't turn out like I'd pictured it, but I was able to recycle it as something else. Lesson 1: Mistakes aren't bad. If something doesn't come…
