Pinned is a buckle, presumably for a belt, made and used around 1150-1175 AD found in the geographic area of what is now the United Kingdom. It is made of walrus ivory and copper and dimensions are roughly 2.5" x 1" x 1/3". It's very similar to current buckles with a tongue connected to a piece of copper wire and has floral engravings with a hatched background. Most likely belonged to a rich man in the 12th century.
