There are a couple of different ways to build a motorized ship's wheel.I built a mount with 2"x5" wood, and then added a wiper motor below and to the side of the wheel. The motor is connected to a 4" piece of slightly bent aluminum that is loosely connected to a 15" PVC pipe. As the aluminum piece rotates, the PVC pipe moves up and down, making the wheel spin to the left and then to the right.You may want to use a wiper motor with a 5V power supply so
