By Angela Mombers: "My 1620s dress, after a drawing of Hendrick Avercamp, is aaaaalmost ready! The black silk arrived last Saturday so I could finally make the skirt. It's attached to the bodice with very tight cartridge pleats. Then the hemline is gathered and tucked in the waist of the petticoat. The petticoat is actually green, but you can't see it well on this photo. Now the only thing left is to starch the cuffs and hood, and then I am ready!"

"Here's a full view of the band of embroidery I did for a hat recently, along with a close up. It's based off of the Mammen find (10th century). I figure this took me about 60 hours in total. I don't have a reference shot for the size of the stitches, but the band of material was about 2" wide." By Peggy Walker
