Václav Cigler, one of the leading personalities of the artistic generation of the 1960s, who very soon crossed the boundaries of the traditionally conceived glass-making and decided to head towards installations and realizations in architecture, exhibits his intimate as well as monumental works on the entire grounds of the château. Ciglerʼs oeuvre is one of the earliest examples of the nascent contemporary artistic expressions of the latter half of the 20th century (minimalism, land art).

The world-famous fashion designer, Blanka Matragi, is coming to the Municipal House with a new exhibition, following up on her successful exhibition in 2006. This exhibition held in the Gaming Parlours will present primarily dresses and accessories but also glass, porcelain, sculptures, chandeliers and graphic art among others.

Black Angel’s Bar is designed in the style of 1930s restaurants, the so-called ‘public houses’, where people of all social strata met their friends after a hard day’s work to cheer the spirit with a good drink, which was then quite unaccountably banned. Located on the second lower level of the hotel U Prince in Old Town Square, it was previously called the Black Angel. The premises with the original Gothic and Romanesque masonry, which creates an atmosphere of secretly ‘getting together’.

Mozart, will culminate this year by the 18th traditional series of Opera Mozart performances in The Estates Theatre. After the triumphal success, Opera Mozart will once again stage a remake of the original world premiere of Don Giovanni, the most famous opera of all times.

His works created in collaboration with Jaroslava Brychtová are presented in museums and galleries all over the world. Besides his work, he was teaching at Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague and he was a director and pedagogist the School of Applied Arts for Glassmaking in Železný Brod where he lived and worked for the majority of of his life.
