ME 262 The Jumo 004 was defintely ahead of it's time. it did have problems also. Frequent engine fires were common. It also took awhile for the engine to spool up, when the throttle was increased. And almost equally as long to lose speed. Which made them extremely vulnerable duriing take off and landing.
