Rick James (born James Johnson, Jr.), singer, songwriter, musician and record producer, best known for being the major popularizer of funk music. His hits include You and I, Give It to Me Baby, Super Freak, Fire & Desire (with Teena Marie), Mary Jane, and 17. He was a part of a skit on Chappelle's Show called "Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories" where he, along with Charlie Murphy recounted humorous stories of their experiences together.
