Yukon....lives at Wolf Haven International

Today we celebrate Yukon. He was born April 2004 at breeding facility in Oregon. Here at the sanctuary he gets to live the life he deserves and we are so honored to be able to provide that for him.

The Yukon wolf (Canis lupus pambasileus), also known as the autocrat timber wolf[4] or interior Alaskan wolf[5] is a possible subspecies of gray wolf native to the Alaska Interior and Yukon, save for the tundra region of the Arctic Coast.[5] It was first described as a distinct subspecies in 1905 by Daniel Elliot, who described it as being larger in skull and tooth proportions than C. l. occidentalis, and of ranging from black to white or a mix of both in color.[4] As of 2005,[6] it is…
