Brancusi   De in Roemenië geboren beeldhouwer Constantin Brancusi heeft zich nooit begeven in de kringen van de futuristische beweging. Toch heeft veel van zijn werk de typische dynamische en mechanische eigenschappen van het futurisme. De kunstenaar laat zich echter inspireren door primitieve Afrikaanse beelden en Roemeense volkskunst, een gegeven waardoor Brancusi zich duidelijk onderscheid van de futuristen.
