Carpal Tunnel Syndrome occurs when the median nerve becomes compressed in the carpal tunnel. The carpal tunnel has rigid, unyielding boundaries and controls the group of muscles at the base of the thumb.
Carpal tunnel is due to excessive pressure in your wrist which causes inflammation and swelling. Applying essential oils on the area can reduce pain and inflammation. It is also advised to avoid positions that overextend your wrist, and to wear splint that holds your wrist still while you sleep to help relieve nighttime symptoms of tingling and numbness.
Your "carpal tunnel" pain in the wrist is actually coming from median nerve compression higher up in your arm. But your surgeon won't tell you that because they do not learn how to treat trigger points like chiropractors do, without scalpels. :)
