Artemisia Gentileschi. Artista formada en el taller de su padre que era seguidor de Caravaggio. El trabajo de Artemisa se diferencia del de otras mujeres por sus obras a gran escala basadas frecuentemente en temas bíblicos o mitológicos protagonizados por «heroínas» o «mujeres fuertes» y también por el tratamiento poco convencional que recibe en sus lienzos la iconografía del heroísmo femenino. Ejemplo: «Susana y los Viejos».
